Summary

I am a software engineer and entrepreneur with a passion for solving problems people care about and making people more productive. I thrive when an important problem requires both high-level digital strategizing and low-level backend engineering, albeit my experience mostly concerns back-end development and algorithm design with Java, Python and Go.

I have a strong background in computer science, full-stack web development and agile methodologies. Additionally, I have two (2) years of professional software development experience working in a fast-paced startup on a greenfield product, contributing to both backend performance and front-end product features.

As an early-career professional, it is important that I keep growing my computer science skills to understand all of what is possible with computers. I am always learning and never shy away from an opportunity to do so.

Nett Pharmacy LTD - Digital Team

November 2023- present (Contract Part-time)

At Nett Pharmacy, I lead the design and implementation of a refreshed e-commerce site at nettpharmacy.com, with the objective of providing Nigerians access to high-quality pharmaceuticals. I am primarily focused with leading the development of the site and improving access to corporate information internally. My responsibilities include:

• Directing an interdisciplinary digital team of 4 to build and maintain Nett Pharmacy’s web applications.
• Performing data migration of our deprecated e-commerce storefront from WordPress to Shopify.
• Researching and Developing a timeline for implementing Single-Sign-On organization-wide, to improve the security of our software infrastructure and protect sensitive information.

Solace - Event Portal Team

January 2022 - November 2023 (Full-time)

At Solace, I was hired to develop and maintain full-stack (front-end and back-end) web applications for the next gen Event Portal 2.0, which is an application that enables software architects to design, model and observe their event-driven software architecture in one place.

Although I worked as a full-stack developer, the vast majority of my work was the back-end (server) engineering using Java and Spring Boot. I also contributed frequently to the React + TypeScript frontend to implement new features.

My tenure at Solace also gave me exposure to the infrastructure of scalable web services, leveraging tools like AWS Elastic Compute, Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and deployment of the event-driven microservices.

At Solace, I:

• Built a performance test suite for our spring microservices using Bash scripts, which aided in achieving a 20% reduction in the average response time by profiling memory usage during long-running operations and identifying and optimizing performance bottlenecks.
• Improved the error-handling for long-running server operations by utilizing the Object-Oriented-Programming Strategy Pattern for the error-handling middleware, which facilitated faster root cause analysis and reduced mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR) for that particular feature by 20%
• Collaborated with software architects and engineering managers to design and test server-side logic.
• Migrated our token management front-end codebase from Aurelia.js to React.js, enhancing developer productivity with a 25% reduction in onboarding time for new developers, attributed to React’s widely adopted ecosystem.
